ARVALIS
ARVALIS is France’s largest applied agricultural research institute and the leading technical authority on arable crops. Its mission is to compile knowledge and provide useful innovations to producers of straw cereals, corn, sorghum, potatoes, forage crops, fiber flax, tobacco, and related economic sectors.
Created by the farmers and sectors that fund it, the institute helps develop the production of high-quality grain and food and non-food raw materials for national and international markets. Operating independently, ARVALIS leverages its expertise to foster the emergence of agroecological production systems that combine economic, social, environmental, and health performance.
Role within Nemesis
Within Nemesis, ARVALIS contributes technical expertise in arable crop systems, soil management practices, and field-based trials, particularly within the French Living Lab. The institute supports the testing and evaluation of co-solutions designed to improve soil health and resilience in arable farming systems. Through on-site trials, data collection, and performance assessment, ARVALIS helps generate robust evidence on agronomic, environmental, and economic impacts. Its close collaboration with farmers and advisory networks ensures that project outcomes are practical, scalable, and aligned with real-world agricultural conditions, strengthening the applicability and uptake of Nemesis results.
