Universitat St. Gallen
At the University of St. Gallen (HSG), the Centre for Education and Social Transformation (CEST) advances Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) research on education, society, and sustainability. The centre analyses transformation processes in complex socio-ecological contexts and translates research insights into societal impact through participatory, stakeholder-oriented approaches connecting research, policy, and practice.
Role within Nemesis
The Centre for Education and Social Transformation (CEST) leads Social Innovation and Awareness Raising in Nemesis (WP6) , advancing the social, economic, and environmental transformation dimensions of the project’s five Living Labs. The team designs and delivers user‑oriented capacity-building, life‑coaching programmes, and socio‑ecological experiments that strengthen stakeholder engagement and support sustainable behavioural change.
CEST also co-develops the project’s interactive e‑Learning Hub for soil health and desertification, providing multilingual training resources and user-oriented learning activities for diverse audiences, including schools. The team further contributes to ethical excellence and pathways of openness in Living Labs and supports capacity-building activities that foster the long-term sustainability and stakeholder ownership of Living Lab services.
